Question Regarding Top Link Hydraulic

I am just worn out from mounting/dismounting to adjust box blade. I see a lot of talk about hydraulic top link and watched a couple of you tube videos. i am sold.

My tractor has one rear remote that was used to power a log splitter. I do not plan on doing any splitting. It is what they call a detent remote.

Is it O.K. to use this type of remote with a hydraulic top link or do I need to buy something else?

If forum allows : any recommendations as far as hydraulic top link vendors? I'd like to support forum members but honestly quality and service take precedent.

Brian from Fit-Rite sells the Top link you want. I myself have bought one from him. Get it with the pilot valve to slow it down. You really don't have to remove the Dentent Balls if you kind of feather the valve..

You can use a detent spool with T-N-T.

Just stay out of detent.

If it becomes a problem, then remove the detent assembly and save the parts.

From my experience I recommend a top link cylinder with a piloted check valve so the cylinder does not leak off and they stay where you put them.
Restrictor valves slow the cylinder down.
Piloted check valves keep them from leaking down and compressing when under load.

I run my top link with the detent valve, just don't push lever into detent. If it does become a hindrance for you, the detent is easy to remove. On the linking end of the valve is cap threaded on. Take that cap off, remove the four little steel balls and spring from inside the spool tube, put the cap back on.

Drjay9051 just posted a great video on removal of detent feature. I assume it is similar regardless of tractor make.
