Read somewhere that you should put a hose loop when hooking to remotes or you may destroy your hydraulic pump. What exactly is a hose loop and how does it keep you from destroying your hydraulic pump.

   / Question #2
The DKSE's have a detent on the factory remote valve so it will stay open, useful for something like a wood spitter. Downside is that if you have nothing plugged into the remote or even just a simple hyd cyl attachment, if you leave the remote valve open, you are dead heading the hydraulic flow, which works the hyd. pump very hard all the time as its blowing through its relief valve. So putting a short loop on the remote outlets prevents you from hurting anything if you accidently leave the remote valve on. I don't have a loop but I check often to make sure I haven't kicked that remote on.

   / Question #3
This isn't necessary, but a good tip somebody just offered me in another thread. Basically, your remote lever has detentes in it which allow you to keep the fluid flowing to the remote without having to hold it. Think of a backhoe or log splitter. They need hydraulic flow, and you can't sit in the seat holding the lever. If you accidentally leave the lever on (open) and there's nothing connected to the remote that will allow the fluid to circulate, you do what is called dead heading the hydraulics. With time, that can damage or destroy the pump.

Connecting a loop (just a simple hydraulic hose) from the supply to the return means that the hydraulics won't be dead headed if you accidentally hit the lever.

My dealer recommended removing the detents. That way I don't have to worry about it being stuck "on."

Unless you ever decide to add a backhoe or other implement that requires a constant flow.

   / Question #6
Accidentally pushed my remote lever on when cleaning the tractor. What alerted me was , when I next started the the tractor , the front loader would not lift.

   / Question #7
Detent disappeared after a couple years on remote control, got kit to fix it from Wallace, but a bit too much for me now, so took piece of heavy rubber bungee cord, put end hole over remote lever and cut/stuffed it in the slot to keep remote open.

I'll eventually whittle/cut something that fits more exactly.

ck30hst, woods backhoe.
