I was reading about the Mid-Mount Mower on the Kubota web site and I wanted to ask if anybody knows what this feature means:

"The 72" deck has the drive-over feature for easy installation and removal"

Also, does anybody know what the height of the Cab model is? Kubota is still not listing any information about it.

The drive-over feature means that to install or remove the mower deck, you don't need to slide the mower from the side. You simply drive over the deck with the front wheels. Nice feature to have with a deck as big as 72". I can't answer about the cab height.

They don't post heights because it varies depending on what tires you use. Once they are available I am sure someone will measure one.

Then let me re-phrase that. Is it possible that it would be taller than 8 ft.? I'm going to put in 8 ft. tall garage doors, which would be okay for the ROPS, but I was wondering if the cab would be a lot taller than that. And if I'm going to get one any time soon, I'm thinking I need to order one now, sight unseen.

Maybe someone could provide input on how the ROPS height compares to Cab height on other models that have them, like the L3430?

My B2910 FROPs is 90" with turf tires. On Deen Implements site they show a picture of a Cab and Standard ROPs tractor next to each other. 8' maybe close. If your garage can have a 10' door put it in.

Thanks for the reference, Ron, that's a good comparison side by side. They're showing a fixed ROPS and I understand the FROPS is taller, although I don't remember by how much. I'm wondering if that might make the cab model about the same height as the FROPS.

I'd hate to have to go to a 10 ft. door, that would mean making the ceiling height 11 or 12 ft., which I would not have normally done.

By the way, do R4 tires (bar tires?) make the tractor taller than the turf tires? I've been thinking that since I'm looking at a lot lighter tractor than the L3130 I considered initially, I might go with R4's for better traction during construction of the house.

I believe the R-4's are a little smaller than than R-3's.
I know your are doing a garage. But I'll put my 2 cents in anyways. When I built my barn I debated whether to make it 8' or 10'. That was before I bought a boat. I did go with 10'. A few years latter I decided to buy a 28' boat. I was able to get into the 10' barn by removing the tire and wheels and installing some 14" steel rims without tires. Marked up the concrete floor. But I was able to get boat in. I should have been deciding when I built between 10' and 12' and gone with the 12'.
When my neighbor built his new barn/garage I and others recommended that he make it 12' high. Since they have the desire to buy a Motor Home. They have not bought a Motor Home yet. But the barn looks great with the 12' X 12' roll up doors on either end.

Howdy,
I wrote to Kubota and they informed me that the tractor with largest tires is 84" high with Cab. That means that if you have a 7' garage door opening you will need to put a little butter on the roof to make it fit. Bummer.

Nope, Ron is correct - the height of my B2910 with FROPS/R4's is just about 84.5" - just a hair too tall to fit thru either the overhead door on my shed or the garage.

I would definitely go with a taller door if I were you - nothig worse than investing a bunch of money in building something ony to find out later that your equipment won't fit in it. FWIW, our garage has a 12 foot ceiling - but due to the roofline/slope they only put in a 8' door - sure wish they had put in a larger one when the place was built.

Randall, I must be missing something. An 8 ft. tall garage door, which is what I'm planning on, will have a clearance of just under 96". So wouldn't an 85" tall tractor go through it just fine? The ceiling will be either 9 or 10 ft. tall.
