```````````I have seen photos of your setup. *It's nice.
I too like the idea of having it be out of the weather but I didn't have a suitable location. There are some advantages to being outside though.
***The area gets washed almost daily, a good portion of the year ;)~~~~~~~~
*Thanks and so is yours .
***Ya got a point there.
Both set ups serve the intended puropse of each of us.
What More could we ask for!
Hey LBrown,
Is that a '49 or a '50 Chevy in the photo? I didn't know they had a Power Gloide until '53...
These are the drums of my double drum system
*I only store 30 gallon at a time but i can store 85 or 90 gallons in the system.
I've changed this idea a little
Decided to use the white 30 gallon drum as a reservoir for the set up and the blue 55 gallon drum for the actual fuel storage.
When I run out in the white drum I fill it from the blue drum.
When the blue drum becomes empty I have the supplier drop by and fill the 55 gallon drum no matter how much fuel is in the white drum at the time.
This way I always have a 20 or 25 gallon reserve on hand so that I won't run out before the fuel man gets here to fill the blue 55 gallon drum.
PS the car is a 1950 Chevy.
The tank is 275g. I use enough fuel to turn the load around within a reasonable storage time. I would have gone for something a bit smaller but didn't have many good choices.
It's pretty crowded in there where I have mine.I'd like to have a small metal building to put the set up in.
Lowes had a 10 wide by 8 deep one for $249.
The nice thing about these buildings is there is no property tax on them as they aren't real estate.
What sort of plastic drums are you using? Are they HDPE? If so, then I have been reading that these types of drums are not suitable for diesel storage and wonder if you know about that issue? The isue is the inside of the driu being penetrated by the fuel and the plastic becoming embrittled after a while..
Looks like the blue drum is steel?
