Quick attach plate strength?

Hi all.
I'm fabing up a plow for my FEL, wondering what thickness plate ya'll suggest. I'm planning on welding 4" C-channel along the bottom for added welding surface and maybe the same on the top.
The tractor is a 35Hp 4wd and the plow is 7'

The ones I sell are 1/4" steel throughout. They are heavy suckers, and more robust (and expensive) than others I have seen offered. But that would be a good start for a snowplow's abuse.
