Please tell me what I need to know about buying a rear quick attach for my 3point on the rear of my tractor. I have a box blade and rock rake that are compatible and it's a pain challenging them out.

The Harbor Freight Quick Hitch is a great deal.

I 'started' with the HFT model and a few issues became apparent immediately. The width somehow didn't accommodate all my attachments. (roto-tiller, Wallenstein chipper) I used a floor jack to spread the lower arms (net ~1/4" after spring-back). Then I found that att's not to ASAE spec couldn't be hitched from the seat w/o fussing with extra bits to connect the top link. I reasoned that by having to dismount for many hook-ups anyway (... and/or connect PTO as required) I should consider options more versatile for my odd assortment of gear.

Of course, Pat's Easy Change was the obvious next step. Bit of a job aligning and adjusting for the initial install, but after that ... 'Happy Days' from first use. Having been somewhat spoiled by the telescoping draft links of my past Deere I had something to compare Pat's setup to. It's not just time saved that pleases me, but not having to muscle attachments with pry bars etc to align with pins pretty much makes up for not having the t'scoping lower links. :cool2:

So far, I've tilled, worked the Box Blade (heavily, pulling and pushing), angle blade, disc, drag, etc with PEC and with no compromises, bending, or breakage. (accepting offers on the HFT unit :D)

I might not have recommended PEC without having tried it, but after two Summers of the usual chores and a Winter of snow removal (use the BB a lot for that) I'm considering getting the Cat II for the big Deere, too. IMO the HFT unit is nice for the $$, but only second best for o'all versatility and ease of use. :2cents:

When I bought my 4105 I ordered the JD iMatch quick-hitch. It's been great and, because I've got a concrete floor in the shed, having all of my implements on wheeled pallets has made swapping out a one-man-job & a breeze.

You'll need to buy a pair of 'bushings' for each 3-point implement you have.

A quick Google shows that 'Muttons' sell them for US$350.

It doesn't matter what color your QH is. There will be attachments that will not fit.

This is not a problem with the QH. It's a problem with the manufacturer of the attachment.

Accept the fact that if using a QH you may have to fine tune your attachments to fit. But once you have done that, you'll never want to go back to anything else.

I've had Pat's. Nice system. Does what it's advertised to do. Isn't even close to the ease of use of a correctly set up QH. If your attachments have not been modified to be standardized the Pat's isn't any better than extendable lower links. So my "BB" lower pin width is different than my "rear blade" lower pin width. I just unhooked from the BB. Wanting to hook to the blade. Gotta get off and reset the width of my lower arms. Might as well have been using extendable links and parked myself within reach of the attachment. Gotta get off anyway. :)

Again, it's all about having your attachments compatible. :)

The definition of paradise, QH with TnT. :)

Why not buy the lower arms as they have in Europe? Cost? That, it seems to me, would solve all set up problems.
Also why do we still keep this obsolete system, when so many want the European one? Just asking

I bought the harbor freight quick hitch and I love it. It very similar to the name brand ones. I would have bought the name brand but they were 2 1/2 to 5 times the price and still couldn't find one made in USA. I did have to modify the hook a bit to my liking and had to set up a couple of my attachments to accept it. But With it and my hydro top link I can swap out so fast no matter what type of ground they are on. Can't believe I didn't do it sooner.

I have the older Deere branded QH. This one does not have the adjustable upper link...if I ever replace it, my next QH will have an adjustable upper connection.

As others wrote, some older implements require modification to be compatible. Neither my chipper and 3PH snowblower will work with my QH. Both are Woods brand, BTW and both are at least 10 years old. The chipper just requires a top hitch point modification (one of my "one of these days" projects). The snowblower...that would require extensive modification...more then I want to do. I'll just replace it sometime.

But, Quick Hitches do make life easier...and I won't be without one as long as I own a tractor.

I've not heard of anyone wanting the European version. Not saying that's not the case, just saying I never see anyone wanting it.

With that said, wouldn't you still have to modify your attachments to fit?? If so, why not just use a QH??

The only thing different in the european version (from ours) is that the arms have the hooks and not the holes. So no problems with attachments, as the arms & top link function just like ours, only ease of use. I've asked myself for years why we still continue with this system and have come up empty. Perhaps some of you may have the answer.

Looks to me like if you just add Pats easy change type QA to the lower arms you have basically the same setup.

Not exactly, in that Pat's adds 4-6" to the length of the arms and consequently less adj in the top link. Wouldn't be cheaper to buy the arms?

Case had the basic idea way back when with their Eagle Hitch
