I would not go to that expense to hook up trailers. I have been using one of these mirrors that angles to see the hitch as you back up. It's the best thing I have found to help with hooking up trailers.

JJ, I have seen those also, and wondered about them. I imagine it would work good with the mirror. Bob Six Hoe would enjoy one of those.

There are alot of gadgets and gizmos out there. That quickbite thing doesn't look any better than the rest.

If you couple trailers enough you get pretty good at it without any extra gadget. I did buy some of those magnetic back up balls for my equipment trailer with ball hitch. They work great and are well worth the couple of seconds it takes to set them up. I don't need them for my pintle hook dump trailer since it's a bigger target.

you'd still have to be at the correct height and alined. It doesn't look all that bad but not worth the price IMO.

That's the thing, I think it's worse than a regular coupler, unless you were on perfect level ground and never changed the weight/height of the truck.

With that thing you have to hit 3 dimensions. side to side, distance to and height. the height being the trickiest one. with a regular coupler it's just side to side and distance to. I wouldn't use that thing if you gave it to me.

The thing JJ links to would help some people I'm sure, they have them a HF now. Save you from hacking up the back of your truck a little, as long as you can get CLOSE to the target

JB4310; I believe they're trying to copy something like a big rig but the thing about a TT is that as the truck backs under it raises the trailer which inturn gives a solid hook. With this setup things would have to be right one the money, otherwise it might end up with a bad hookup or broken parts. I also think what JJ posted would be better, but hey, the world is constantly changing.

What about this "Snap Hitch"?

More of a 5th wheel style. Looks more forgiving re: alignment. Plus it might provide some security if the pin was locked into the trailers hitch.

Does seem to add a bit of extra length between truck and trailer though.
