quick change system

   / quick change system #11
I have Pat's system.. am very pleased. It DOES slip over the lift arm balls... and a pin goes thru those balls to hold it on... along with some adjustment nuts to get all the angles set right... it fits on just about any lift arm, best I can tell.. have never heard of somebody getting Pat's system and discovering that it didn't fit.

It's not junk. He makes it. It is well made. And, he stands behind it. Be aware that it comes in all category sizes... but TBN only sells the Cat I size... gotta get it from Pat if you want a Cat II, which I did.

I worried over the cost for a while.. then realized that I was dreading changing implements in some situations because of the difficulty in attaching some that I have.... Pat's solved that problem. I no longer dread changing implements... and do so sometimes several times a day...

If you don't change implements often, you may not need a quick change system. If you do, Pat's really helps.

I'm glad you said that. It's been so long since I put mine on, I didn't remember doing that. I did remember using the nuts to get the angles right, but when I saw the one on Ebay, it doesn't look like the same pin through the sockets.
Thanks for refreshing my memory!

Oh, and some other things you get with Pat's are spacers, and some L-shaped "washers" that go on the implement pin between the implement and the Lynch pin which helps protect the lynch pin from damage. I've managed to lose most of mine, so I'll call Pat's to get some more.

A friend of mine found a hitch system on Harbor Freight. For under 100 dollars. I seareched online here at TBN and found an older post about them and the stock number even worked on Harbor Freight site. The price is 69.99. Anyway My friend tells me its backordered.I ordered one just the same. I figure if it isnt much good, it can be adapted to something else.
I was wondering if anyone had some feedback on this, maybe they have one and use it,or had troubles.
I know the quality isnt as good as the more expensive ones. But I can live with that with my uses.Ill try to adda link to the hitch
Thanks.

I can tell you now just from the picture that you're going to have to have the same width implement pins or they're not going on that hitch because it isn't adjustable.

I have a few things that require me to narrow the width, landscape rake, boom pole for two, because they're not as wide as the rotary cutter, box blade etc. If you can't adjust the width, you would need to modify the implements or hitch.

That's a major reason I like my Pat's EZ Change. They just ride on the arm ends, the arms adjust.

I was just at TSC - they have a KK model for ~ $ 200.

What gives?

I think (I'll go check) that all my 3PH stuff is 26" across...

You do have to put a little collar (with ears) on the lynch pins of all your 3PH stuff in order to use it, but it looks like once yer set up, it's a snap to use / switch between any and all...

Good buy? Yes or no?
