Guess what, im doing an electronics course too!!

Cool!! That gave me an idea that would come in very handy. A radio remote control that would operate an electric motor driven screw. Something like a remote controlled winch. That way if you are by yourself and installing an engine or something else equally awkward, you can control the descent and angle of the load while guiding it with your free hand, and using a single finger to control the tilt and possible even the descent. My mind's drooling at the possibilities.
Oh well, back to reality. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To be honest, that was my first thought and i actually planned it, a stepper motor with position control to place the screw. Also a weight readout or something so you can balance your load. Another idea was an auto leveller using some mergury switches, wouldnt be that hard really. But i taked it through with the guys doing the course and they said I shouldnt make projects that depend on each other for obvious reasons, so that took a header,
Im making a climate control system like in a car for my cab in electronics instead /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
