Ok everybody has a quick hitche on their tractor but who has cutomized theirs. Adding this or that, making it a milti tool. I love the boxes I made and welded to mine as they hold chains pins and tools. I found that idea here at TBN and im sure others have some great or helpfull ideas. So help us out and post a pic of your upgrades.

Wolf,

Excellent idea on the toolboxes.

My only mod so far is making a HF quick hitch front-mountable.

I wish you all would show pictures of how you made implements work with a quick hitch. I may have gotton my John Deere box blade to work with my speeco Quick Hitch if I get a shorter top link. Had to cut/grind metal from around side pins and reconfigure the top link connector. It's a box blade from 1983 so maybe the quick hich wasn't around then. This looked like the easiest attachment to modify I have. I like the idea of the Quick Hitch but am not looking forward to the work involved to make things work.

It can be a PITA for sure. I have modified about 6 things for the iMatch, each one had it's own unique problems but in the end it was all worth it!

The last thing I did was my chipper, I have a bunch of pictures in this thread showing the adapter I made: New-to-Me Goossen Chipper/Shredder - TractorByNet.com

Nice idea with the toolboxes. Do they make it more of a hassle to hook up the PTO due to restricted access?

I second Kenny's comments about it being worth it.

I don't have a need for a chipper/shredder; but Kenny scored a deal there and did a nice simple job to make it work with his iMatch.

Having the boxes on for the last month and I love the storage. In use almost every time I use the tractor. Mine are from a 10 inch by 4 inch tube 12 inchs deep. Got the idea from AL3 ; found under search for ( chain storage). Hes got 4 boxes check it out.

Tring to figure out a way to store a light drawbar on my quick hitch. I dont find the boxs in the way when hooking up pto. I keep a can of lub to spray on pto in box also. Heres another pic.

Capt. Dan,

I just made an adapter that takes care of my two non-iMatch compatible attachments.

Capt. Dan,

Just take a look through my various galleries to see how I've made non Quick-Hitch stuff work with a QH.

HowlingWolf & Runner...which QH do you guys have? I've got a genuine JD iMatch on the back of mine, but I've been thinking & wanting to make a Loader Mount version like Runners...just cant see spending 250.00 for the JD version. My issue with the HF version that my dad and FIL have is the lower link Diameter wasnt the same as the true iMatch (1.49" pins)... Looks like the version you guys have accept the true iMatch bushings...

Dave,

I have both, iMatch on the rear hitch and HF that was used for the front-mount. I had the same problems you mention with the lower links and had to do a significant amount of grinding to get them to fit my bushings.

Due to that problem and others (such as the clunky top link hook), if I were making another front-mount quick hitch, I'd use an iMatch for it, even though it is more expensive.

I was afraid of that....I've seen some on eBay which LOOK like they might be good (correct dia links)....but I havent confirmed..

When I made my QH I had to modify several of my implements and while it was not always simple to do, I believe the end result is really worth it. It is so nice to just back up and lift and go. Sometimes, depending how I set something down I need to adjust the top link to get the hook to catch. I really do like it and use it on everything except the tiller which is still 2 point attach. How I modified the implements is in the links in my sig.

This is exactly why I only bought JD I Match implements. They are all ready to hook right up to the I match. I hate butchering implements to make them fit.
