Hey everyone- just purchased a YT347 ROPS, and it has a 2500# lift capacity on the 610 Loader. I went ahead and had a WR Long front remote installed, and purchased a WR Long UJ1 4 n1. (I don't want to get into a grapple vs 4n1 discussion- had a 4n1 on a backhoe for years and its much more useful than a grapple!)

My question is this- I've struggled with whether of not to get the UJ2 (1000-2400# lift capacity loader- and weighs 515lbs), or the UJ1(2000-3000#lift capacity- and weighs 727lbs). The capacity of the buckets are 11.8 vs 18.2 ft^2 - so a lot bigger bucket. However, I'm worried I'm hosing myself on ultimate lift capacity by going with the larger bucket. I know I'll need more ballast, but would you go with the smaller or larger bucket? Diff in price is relatively small, and I may get a larger tractor eventually.

Thanks is advance, and I appreciate it.

Me, personally, I would go with the smaller bucket. It will be easier on the tractor and loader versus the bigger one.

We need to keep in mind, that tractors are not really meant to have a loader on. Yes, it's great and handy to have one, but it's also very easy to abuse and break stuff with a loader, specially with oversized attachments. They are not full size loaders or skidsteers that can take huge and heavy attachments.

This is just my opinion by the way.

Good point. I've abused my JD 970 (30 hp) loader pretty badly since '98....haven't managed to break it...yet anyway.
A 4 n 1 is a different animal though- definitely different stresses on the machine. Thanks for your thoughts.
