I don't believe you can delete a started thread. I do know you can delete a post to a thread (seems like it's "sometimes" as sometimes you can, sometimes you can't).

You cannot delete the first post in a thread, or a post in one of the opt-in forums (ie: Friendly Politics or the Front Porch).
Outside of those forums, you can delete a reply for the first 24 hours after you post it.

In all forums, you can edit a post for the first 24 hours after you post it.

If you need a thread or post removed, you can ask the moderators to do that by "reporting" your post and ask for it to be removed.
