I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but just need that extra push one way or the other to make my decision. I was priced a new BX25 with 54" fine cut deck, 3 point and extra set of wheel with turf tires( tractor is coming with R4's) for just under $19000.

Is that the deal I have been looking for? Is that about as good as it is going to get? Need to make a decision pretty quickly. I don't like leaving folks hanging for very long.

I appreciate you sharing your buying experience with me.

thanks in advance!

Consider those tires. W/o chains youre stuck in the mud or snow.

Save your money on the turf tires, the R4 tires on that little tractor is not going to hurt your lawn. I don't know if you normally get enough snow to worry about using chains but if so, spend your money on a set of chains rather than turf tires.
I personally wouldn't spend that much for a BX regardless of the deal. You don't give any info on the uses you intend so other than the tires, that is all I can advise on. Unless the size is very restricted, I would go for a B series rather than BX.

According to tractordata.com the original price for the TLB is $19,300 which doesn't include the mower deck. I don't know how they price the equipment, mfg suggested price perhaps, if so deduct 10% for normal deal, 15% for great deal, add in price of mower (I added 2500) and came up with $18,900 so if the mower price is close, $19K would be a good deal. I have no idea what a belly mower for that size tractor costs though, it could be much less.

I appreciate the feedback from all. I can't go any larger than the BX size machine due to my needs. This will primarily be used as a mower for my 1.75 acres. More than half is a hill that I mow with the Gravely Rider. I do have a concern about the stability on the hill compared to the Gravely. The Gravely is VERY stable.

My plan is to run primarily the turfs, unless conditions required or when using as a backhoe and then I will put on the R4's.

Never gave much thought to the thumb. It really is that useful, huh?

What would you be using the backhoe for?
