I got most of it installed last night. Got the old oil out and drained the filters (I'm being naughty and reusing them. They're only 18 months old). Dumped five gallons in before it was time for dinner.

As I've heard others say on here, the fluid looked great on the dipstick. In the pail, however it wasn't as beautiful. I'll get the rest dumped in this afternoon. I'm very hopeful for a better performing tractor. Hopefully that's not too unrealistic.

Yes sir, -15 here. Warmed up from -25 a couple hours ago, though.

Don't worry, the tractor is in a heated shop. :)

Actually, thanks for reminding me to put some of the old fluid and some new stuff in jars to see what the viscosity is like at cold temps. This ought to be a good chance.

Also, i can make ice cubes in a real jiffy today. Much faster than in the freezer. :)

If you pee off of the back porch, does it hit the ground as icicles? :)

Went out to take a leak this very morning. Glad I brought my pocket knife, or I'd still be out there stuck fast to a frozen amber column. I was able to break the ice with my knife and free myself. ;)

I guess thread has accomplished it's purpose and taken a bit of turn so I'll make this comment about that cold front.

We drove home from TN yesterday vising the kids/grandkids.. When we got to Cincinati Oh, it was 60 degrees around 3pm. The temp went from 60 to 39 degrees in 8 miles of driving on 71. You could see the frog as you drove into that front.

Nothing like what you all have up North though.

Well, it's about 40 degrees warmer outside right now than it was when I started this adventure.

I've got good news. First of all, 7018AC is awesome! Looks better than 6011 and MUCH easier to lay down than regular 7018. Got the blade welded up in a jiffy. Finished up my snow moving (for now) without breaking anything else.

Filled it up with SUDT2, and the hydraulic performance is definitely better. The three point control and the HST are both more responsive. At idle, three point is completely silent, which has never been the case in cool weather. It stays silent up to about 1600 RPM. Unfortunately, at higher RPMs, it whines like it used to. A little quieter perhaps, but still a whine.

After some reading here I'm inclined to believe that I have a leak in the system on the suction side of the pump. At least I hope I do anyway. So, back into the shop in the next few days to try and track it down. Wish me luck.

Show some photo's of your blade repair if you have time. Keep us posted on what you think of the SUDT2 as time goes by.
