What tractor has the quietest and smoothest running engine? Kioti CK30, Farmtrac 300 DTC, Montana 3040, Kubota L2800, or Mahindra 2815? I believe I have narrowed my search down to one of these tractors.......at least for this week.

Don't know if you'll get any takers for your question, at least any sane ones.
Hmm...what does that say about me?:D )

Not likely that many folks here have test driven the exact 4 models referenced long enough to provide a comprehensive noise and vibration comparison. Even if so, 4 testers could easily come up with 4 different results.

Nothing will answer the question for you other than trying out all 4 and selecting the one that "feels right".

My opinion. It and $.75 will get you a soda.:)

By quiet, do you mean for the driver or for people who are sitting in the house watching TV? I don't think any tractor is quiet for the driver, as for the other people I think it depends how far away you are.

Kubota engines are generally considered very quiet but the only sure way is go drive each one and decide for yourself.

Kubota seems to claim to fame the quietest diesels? My kubota diesel is quieter than my izuzu and my international, its also much.much smaller?

I used a Montana a few weeks ago and it was so quiet I did not need to use any hearing protection. I used a New Holland TC40DA *4 cyl diesel) and it was very very quiet.

My NH TN70A (3 -cyl turbo) demands hearing protection. 92 db at 2300 RPM Bob

I'm no expert but I have noticed 3 cylinder diesels are considerably quieter than 2 cylinder ones. I have not tried anything with 4 cylinders though, so can't remark on that one.

My four cylinder diesel is quieter than your 3 cylinder diesel....nana nana na na...
(Just kidding)

The only real way is as mentioned, see if you can tell the difference as you test drive them. I would imagine some of the exhaust could be toned down if required, but the mechanical noise of the engine will be the part that would be a problem.
What is your reasoning for wanting a quieter diesel? If your afraid of waking the baby, don't worry, they can sleep thru anything, but a feather hitting the floor will wake them at times, when you want them to sleep.

Well my B7800 is quiet enough for my wife to say I can't believe how quiet that thing is. It is a 4 cylinder though. I think it is very quiet myself
