Quirky steering on CK2510

This may be just the style of steering system used. In their previous models CK & DK series Kioti used 2 different systems. The CK 20-35 had "Load Reaction Steering". The when steering wheel was not being turned, the oil in steering cylinders was blocked at the steering orbital motor. This allowed some degree of feedback from the wheels to the steering wheel. The DK series used "Non-load Reaction" which blocked the oil to/from the steering cylinders at the metering spool so operator will not feel any negative feed back from the wheels. See insert - .

The Non-load Reaction is used on larger equipment for the advantage of more uniform effort to turn the steering wheel regardless of load on front end. I'm not sure which system is used on the new models. If you have a service manual look at the schematics and compare to these posted or call your dealer and ask?

Its the hydrostatic steering. No direct link between the steering wheel and the steered wheels. ... I have a similar problem with my 7520 Mahindra. It seems, in essence, that there is a good fluid link as I steer - but very little link when you arent actively steering. So when you arent turning the steering wheel some the steered wheels wander. Not so hard to deal with but it keeps you busy..

yup, my Mahindra is the same as is my brother's Kioti. This also makes it so the steering wheel is never 'centered' and is always in a different rotational position.

I was wondering if you have weight on the rear? Mine handles much differently when the BH is on, and I don't think I've driven down the road at high speed with the hoe on, only the ballast barrel or box blade. I didn't notice any wander.

Buggs, the backhoe is currentlyi aboard. It did it with thie snowblower on (front) I will drive it down thie road withi the backhoe on and let you know. Thanks for tihe illuistration, Dennis. OldPilgrim, are you saying we just have to live with this condition?

I really don't know. I've heard of no adjustment any where. I don't really consider it a problem, just a minor inconvenience as I don't go on the road much.
