[*]Company D came out, looked at the rooms, saw what we wanted to do, then SUPPOSEDLY 3-4 days later sent us a quote. I didn't get an email, so I emailed them and asked where the quote was. The sales guy called me back, claimed that he had sent it and assured me that he would resend it right away. Never saw the email and I had some family issues, so I forgot about it for a week or so. I checked mail, spam, trash, etc, no email. I dug through the email logs on the server from when he (supposedly) sent the quote and the second copy, but the email is not listed. In fact the only emails to that company were mine asking about the quote...

I've been asking for quotes on a security system. Supposedly they've sent the quotes several times. I emailed them so they could respond to my email ensuring they didn't have the wrong address. I telephonically confirmed they got the email. Months later I haven't got the quote, they haven't got the job.

A few years ago we had multiple people / businesses beating down the door for ANY job, now we can't get vendors to respond to "small" (<$50k) jobs they don't consider worth their time.

I am firmly convinced that a lot of people are self employed for a reason - they can't hold a freakin job.

Wished that were the case with me. YRS ago when I worked for the other guy. I had waaaaaay more time off and didn't work nearly as hard as I do now. I'm getting old. Something is going to have to give.
