Snow R1 AG tires up front, better for snow?

When pushing snow with 4110 loader bucket in float mode, I lose much of my steering with the R4 Ind. tires.
Need to steer with brakes, R4 fronts just slide.
I'm thinking about a extra set of wheels with R1's to swap out for winter.
Would I get better steering traction with Ag. tires up front?

Not much. Surprisingly behind a cleared path of bucket turfs have the most traction.

The R1's and the R-4's are about equal on packed or thin snow. Deep snow the R-1's are better, but thats more for people doing logging or whatnot.

You dont have enough weight on the front end in float mode, especially with a backhoe hanging out back. I dont think different tires would help. I had a similar problem with my 2615HST w/industrial tires. I have the 64" snowblower on back and I also had steering problems using the bucket in float. For snow plowing I adapted a 7 1/2 ft. truck plow blade to my bucket and hung a homemade box filled with weight on the front frame. The extra weight gave me better steering ability. for my best steering I raise the blade about 1/2 to 1" off the ground to put more weight on the front tires. I think weights are available to hang on the front frame which would put more weight on the steering tires. Check with your dealer. I live in the snow belt of upstate NY just east of Ontario.
