Wow! Great advice as usual. Was quite surprised by the Kubota thread. But, how often does a roll-over go to afull rollover. All I have ever seen is laying it on its side, so the added tire weight would not be much ofa ROPS issue.. Or am I not seeing it right.

I am going to inquire about the widest at tires here, and with my dealer. The traction issue is real in my case, lots of mud in Washington state, most of the year.

Carl,

To me, anytime a tractor rolls to it's side (or more) it's a roll over. True, it only just fell over, but that sounds pretty odd, "oops, my tractor fell over!". The ROPS keeps it from going any farther in all but the most severe cases.

You don't have to check with the dealer, you can go online to firestoneag, michelinag and probably Titan (Goodyear sold out to them) too. I know Firestone and the Frenchies have detailed information and I assume Titan will too.

Remember, you have to correctly match fronts and rears diameter ratios if you have 4x4. Good information was discussed on it in spring IIRC.

Patrick---Just read your reply on not putting liquid in the rear tires. I have a 45 hp cab tractor (Kioti) and can find nothing in the manual that says you shouldn't put liquid in. The quote from the Kioti manual: "Rear wheel weights are available or liquid may be added to the tires." What you're saying concerns me a bit, maybe I shouldn't have added the Ballast Star rim guard solution?

JB, With any luck the FEL bucket might dump when you roll over. I was less than thrilled when I found the prohibition against loading the tires but in retrospect, I haven't missed much and as I have had a couple major punctures of the rear tires the loading wouild have been a hassle. The tire shop that "did me" won't take loaded tires and they get $50 to fix a flat on a rear.

I run non-loaded and with some slime. Haven't added air to tires in over 2 years and I definitely run over locust thorns and such.
