One of the tire options on the old M6800 and the new M7040 that is on almost all of them now is the R1W option.

The fronts come as 360-70-R20's on wide rims and the rears are just regular old 16.9x30's

I'm told the tire option won't fit on other models due to the ratios but I'd bet since the 7040 is the best selling M here they haven't bothered checking.

Interesting conversion, but looking in my book I would think there might be troubles coming down the road! You can't really match a R-1w with a R-1 in soft soil. Tried it before with R-3's and lost a fistful of dollars in driveshaft problems twenty years ago!

These are not conversions, each Kubota corperation chooses what tires to offer on their machines. This is a warranteed tire and wheel combination in Canada. Near 100% of 7040's are sold this way.

Hi, Well i just wanted to say that i bought a 7040 bout month ago and it had the skinny tire on the front but i wanted a wider tire and my dealer and and supposedly kubota knowed of no option like this but my dealer looked into it and called titan tire in Calf. And found a tire and wheel like about like the ones in the pics for my tractor. I ran the tractor for about a week (30hrs of use) with the factory tires waiting until the R-1W arrived, and the dealer swapped them out at no extra cost I now have 80hrs and have no problems, no binding or anything when in 4wd on hard surfaces or anything and engages and disengage smoothly too. I think the price for the tires and whls would have been about $940.

P.S. i love this tractor, have owned many brands and models and this is my favorite, love everything about it
