Rain on a tin roof

In my barn, a sprinkle sounds like a downpour..

We get rain so infrequently - feels good to just go out and stand in it for a while.

Our barn has a metal roof. A sprinkle does indeed sound like a downpour. And a downpour sounds like a monsoon

I can’t tell.. I have 2” styrofoam insulation on the inside of the roof and walls covered w/ 1/2” plywood..
I have to look out the door to make sure..
Same w the house..

I'm not a fan of metal roofing but last fall I covered my front steps with a couple of unused sheets I had picked up at the dump. It's been dry here lately and the first thing I'm doing tomorrow is water what plants I have in the ground.
Or maybe not... we just had a nice shower and it was rather enjoyable listening to the rain come down.

We have a steel roof on the house, but the underlayment and plywood dampens the rain sound, so we don’t hear it on the roof.
