RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that you're finally getting some rain. We drove through smoke in OK that was so thick you couldn't see 10' from fires along 35. Burn bans from Houston all of the way into Kansas. Hope it keeps coming for you.

The local news has me at 2 1/2 inches over 14 hours. My small 3/4 acre pond is up 2 1/2 feet and I have an island again!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've built up a road across the front of my lake project to divert the water off the land away from the lake for now. When I'm done, I'll install culverts, but for now I want to keep it as dry as I can. It has about a foot in it, in places.

Everythings nice and muddy, but the burn ban is still in place. One guy on the news got a ticket trying to burn while it was raining.

I really think I musta got more than .25" since everyone around got at least an inch. My rain guage sprung a leak and I patched it with silicone, but maybe it leaks. I will throw it out and get another.

I noticed water still standing in spots this morning, and even my gravel road is muddy. I don't think it would have gotten in that condition with only a quarter-inch of rain, given how dry it was.

I am thankful for whatever I got.

I wouldn't exactly call you tight, Alan, but I can hear something squeaking all the way over here in Sunset. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We got anywhere from 2.25" to a tad over 3" over the weekend here in NE Texas. It sure perked up the winter pastures. And very few puddles. The ground just sucked it up, especially where we had aerated back in the Fall. So, we are still behind on water, but actually ahead for the year.... if that makes sense.

Still dry as a bone here, supose to get some tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Forecast is for a 90% chance for us tomorrow night, so we're hoping, too.

North Lee County Got 1/2" last weekend and we are expecting more there tonight. The level of the ponds is still declining. Usually there is winter grass by this time of the year but none this year. The cows are living on youpon bushes and dead grass. Round bales usually sell for about $35 are selling for $85. (Some day I will get the internet in Lee County and won't be a week behind. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif)
