I copied this from another post on TBN, solution for soot on loader arms. It worked but the poprivets that hold it on would vibrate loose, so I fixed it.
Here's the new part, these are on the BX22 Kubota, don't know why they weren't on the 2200.
Priced that part at my local dealer, (are you setting down) $48.00. I came by it as part of a deal for the BX grill guard at another dealer.
What works good for getting off soot after its there. My pressure washer(2850 psi) doesn't touch the stuff. Tried spraying soapy water and letting it sit from the pressure washer as well...nothing.
Suppose I need to use Simple Green and wipe it off?
I used GoJo handcleaner, smeared it on and used a brush, I didn't leave the soot on the arms very long, don't know how hard it would be to get off after it set.
Try a little deisel fuel on a soft rag, then wipe off the area with a soft dry rag, then wash with soap/water. Works great for road tar too. Wont hurt the paint either, and really makes it shine for a while.
