Rainy New England- why I'll never get a non 4WD

Re: Rainy New England- why I\'ll never get a non 4WD

4WD is another tool for the tool box. I use mine when it is needed. If I am in light soil and I know I am going to slip I place it in 4WD prior to that. If I am cutting grass it is in 2WD. I bought this tractor for the 4WD and the loader. By the way loader ops are always 4WD.

I think you are totally wrong that assumption. In it's TN ads New Holland very specificaly states that using 4WD is more fuel efficient and less wear and tear on the machine. All has to do with applying the forces more efficiently with less slippage. Slippage equals wasted power and stress loading.

I will start using 4WD and see what happens. Thanks, Bob

Re: Rainy New England- why I\'ll never get a non 4WD

The ground is so dry and hard here, it's like being on concrete. Send some rain down here. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I keep mine in 4WD most of the time. When finish mowing, I scuff more by being in 2WD because of spinning on a hill.

Re: Rainy New England- why I\'ll never get a non 4WD

The best feature of the SuperSteer axle is the SensiTrak transmission (included) the puts our Class III Boomer in 4WD automatically and only when it's needed. A hydro coupled auto 4WD what could be better than that? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( For those of us on hilly terrain I think that 4wd gives the added benefit of 4 wheel braking. I only take mine out of 4wd for light, level mowing (scuffs the grass less in 2wd) and when driving on pavement. )

Mornin George,
Yep, but I would have to own a finish mower to see I was scuffing the lawn /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Maybe next year /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
