The Cummins powered Rams tend to have weak A/C due in part to the condenser being in front of a large radiator and a huge intercooler and trans/power steering coolers. Once the truck is moving, it’s a non issue, but the problem can be compounded by the engine driven cooling fan and clutch. The third gen trucks won’t lock up the fan clutch until the engine is warmed up and it’s needs the cooling. That leaves very little airflow over the condenser at low speeds.
Another thing is the Mega cab trucks have the same A/C system as a regular cab truck.
I also have a black Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. The a/c works just fine and cools the cab down in 100 degree temps just as well as my German sedan in similar temperatures.
