Ram Truck Question

   / Ram Truck Question #51
I am sitting here, wondering when our fine EPA that just nailed Cummins with a serious fine, is going to start grabbing the guys selling those chips and selectors for getting fuel economy or performance out of your truck?
Seems like the guys going in or out of Kalifornia may get pullled over for an emissions check? I have seen similar things done in years past, which is one of the reasons I quit going out there!

There’s a simple reason- MONEY
Cummins is a huge, juicy target with lots of people to reach out to and threaten with the full force of Merrick Garlands Dept of Justice or the EPA.

Going after 2 pimple faced 20 somethings trying to make money selling superchips isn’t worth as much to them as Cummins, Detroit, etc.

They ARE going after small guys, but the big manufacturers is where the big $$ fines are.

I hate running boards. I won't put them on my ram 2500. When the wife complains I tell her "a woman with less miles on her wouldn't have a problem climbing up, so don't make me decide which one to trade in." She doesn't find it very amusing

Ha!

Well, Valentine Day is just a month away!

Keep that up and she just might make the decision for you.

Edge is a company that sells aftermarket diesel components and they got hit by a big fine. I think their fines were for selling delete components.

   / Ram Truck Question #57
Happiness is having a diesel truck that right from the factory has all the power & performance you could ever want.

Love my Ram just the way it is with its’ “measly” 360/850
Love my IH-7500 just the way it is with 310/1100

   / Ram Truck Question #59
You are correct, it must be too early for me. Take 10 years off my post and it’s correct and has nothing to do with the Cummins thing. My bad.

2003 through early 04 are the only Non emissions Common Rail Cummins.
No EGR

   / Ram Truck Question #60
I believe they made them EGR free until mid year 2007. I googled it to make sure this time. So the early 2007’s were the old 5.9 common rail and the latter ones were 6.7 cummins which were equipped with the emissions crap. The switch over actually happened on the calendar year so January 2007 was the start of the 6.7.
