But anyways what does that have to do with it? A 1.0l engine can get you to 55mph just like a 5.4l. Maybe not as fast or as flashy, but it'll get you there with money in your pocket.

Small engines havent been offered because they weren't "cool".

Sorry if i was a bit rude, there is a lot of people wanting compact, efficient vehicles, particularly up here; however we are being held back by some of the stereotypes that American consumers have regarding compacts and efficiency.

If it was up to me, we'd adopt the Euro specs for efficiency, safety and emissions and have direct access to the Euro market in Canada. But that will never happen.

They won't even sell the little engines we get in Canada in the US! Toyota Echo hatch and sedan and the newer Yaris where/are massively popular up here, I don't think they ever sold the hatch version of the Echo in the US due to lack of market demand.

True. We had the Diesel smart, before it was sent to the US with a gas engine that ruined its good mileage and made it a joke.

Man, those older Echos were awesome. We'd get together and put $5 in each and go over 100 miles each way to go fishing, we'd still have lots of gas and enough money for beer.. Good times.

I watch Topgear on BBC and a lot of the time cars get seem to get twice the mileage they do here. Even the cars with 400hp get good mileage.

This Jag hits 60MPH in 4.8 with a topspeed of 171MPH. It gets 33USMPG.
