The real issue is..... Can a guy haul a tractor like yours on a twelve foot one ton? The answer is yes.
Should a guy haul a tractor like yours on a truck like yours. The answer is no.
Do the the right thing. Be safe on the road for yourself and the others who happen to be on the highway with you.

2.5 hours by scary truck or maybe 5 hours by tractor. Either way sounds no fun.

When I was a kid on the farm I drove our Cockshutt 1850 to the dealer for some warranty work, a distance of about 90 miles one way. 5 3/4 hours there and 5 3/4 hours back @ 15.6 mph.

One of those things that I am glad to say I only did once! :D

While we are on the subject of hauling on a 1 ton dually flatbed truck...years ago when I used to race Stock Cars one of the racers used to haul his race car (Super Stock class so fairly low to the ground) on his flatbed truck. He didn't use ramps, he had a hoist on it, and you would NEVER think he could load/unload it just by tilting the deck if you saw it on the truck. He would tilt the deck to a certain angle and he would winch it on and off. The nose would clear the deck by about an inch when he winched it on and as it advanced onto the deck the rear bumper would clear the ground by about an inch also and vice versa of course when he unloaded it. It wasn't a long deck either. Truly a sight to behold.

30 miles with a Massey Harris 44 Special and 70 miles with a IH 560. Beautiful spring day, county gravel and 2 lane blacktop. Don't remember how long it took but rather enjoyed the slow unfamiliar scenery. Yeah, it's slow, but not as slow as the pioneers!

I would try this at least once to see if I could live with the way everything handles. I wouldn't buy any ramps until I tried it. You should be able to figure out a way to get it loaded without ramps. Borrow someone's loading dock or build an earth berm to load it with.

You're doing this on a dually and I doubt if it's going to feel as top heavy as some posters have indicated. You can try driving the load around a yard and see if it's something you would feel comfortable and safe with. If it's something you can live with then buy a set of aluminum ramps as steel ones long enough to do the job are going to be heavy.

I have no experience with hauling a tractor like this other than loading a backhoe onto a tandem gravel truck on flat ground without any ramps at all. It was a bit dicey but we got it loaded.

How much does that machine weigh? Anyone ever rent a car dolly with hydraulic brakes and back a 2 WD tractor onto it? Just thinking out loud. The front steering (tie rods etc) would need to be securly locked/chained into place, but the front tires should be good for 35 mph.
