Oil & Fuel ran it out of fuel

The TC35D manual has info about bleeding fuel system under the replacing the fuel filter section. Had to use it a couple of times after changing the filter - worked fine.

anything and everything these guys touched on should work. i've ran alot of different pieces of equipment out of fuel over the years. its never a good thing. sometimes these diesels fuel guages just don't read the way they should or i just push it too far. the only other thing i can think of is using a little starting fluid just to get the motor cranking again to pull in fuel. it'll spit and sputter for a while but if there are no other problems then it should run. don't get crazy though because running too much starting fluid through the motor can cause damage.

PLEASE!!! everybody never ever use starting fluid on small IDI diesel engines (indirect injection) like what is used in the TC33D. Unless you want to take a chance on braking a piston ring land, bend a rod or damage the head gasket.

If the engine was a medium to large DI diesel engine (direct injection). A very small amount a stating fluid could be used for hard starts. Like a Cat 3208/3406 or Cummings B5.9TA and 855 big cam that I used at my work many years ago.

i have never used starting fluid on my 2810 but i have never needed it. that thing will fire up when it is -15 f out with no block heater. is it that dangerous to the engine? even in a very small amount just to get it cranking again? i have a hard time believing that one small squirt will blow a head gasket or a piston ring but i won't discredit that. i don't recommend using it but in a bad situation after running the fuel out and being stuck out in a field with the weather coming, work to be done, snow on the way, stuck on the side of a hill, some dead livestock that needs to be buried or moved out of the barn etc. sometimes a small squirt of starting fluid that will revive a dead tractor seams worth it if none of the other proper means of bleeding etc work. it is just another option in an extreme curcumstance. once again i do not recommend it unless nothing else works or the situation becomes extreme. as you stated rancherogt there is a risk involved but those options have to be weighed by the owner. in the past i have used starting fluid in many ford ih powerstrokes, small cummins diesels, kubotas, macks, case, john deere, perkins, etc. with no problems. it is totally a case by case bases at the owner/operators discretion. it is just an option.
