Ran out of fuel

/ Ran out of fuel #11
After running out of diesel, mine won't bleed to the injector pump, so I loosen the bleed screw on the pump, then blow in the tank filler until fuel reaches the bleed screw, then it takes a few cranks before it starts.

On another diesel engine (a Robin engine)on my mini digger, it does bleed to the pump when the bleed screw is loosened, however I then have to loosen the pipe on the injector to bleed the air out whilst cranking, otherwise it won't start.

My dumper is aright pig to restart after running out of diesel, so try to take more care. Its fitted with a Lister diesel engine. With this I have to remove a difficult to get at side plate on the block, to get at the injector pipe to bleed the air out whilst cranking. In the past I tried towing it for over a mile to try and get it to start, but ended up getting my hands badly stained with horrible diesel oil to do the job the correct way :(
