Ranch Tractor buying question

That's a really good machine, but I'd be curious to see what his price is without the implements (other than the second BH bucket). Dealer prices on implements tend to be crazy high from what I've seen. I've managed to get some really great deals on nice implements at farmer's auctions and Craigslist, but that takes a bit more time.

There's a 2008 L39 on TractorHouse with roughly 550hrs on it, and they're asking $29,900. The one you're looking at is two years newer, and lower hours, but $10K is a pretty big chunk of change for the couple hundred hours, and implements. There's a 2013 on Equipment Trader (and Ebay) with 143 hours for $34,500...just to put a point of reference out there.

I have no idea what size the L39 is .. Your opening post you where talking about some pretty good sized tractors for the amount of land you show in your personal info

With owning 1-10 acres those are defiantly more tractor than u need .. Unless you are renting farm land or doing custom work ... If that's the case why so much tractor?

Well I just drove all the way to Montana to meet the dealer and buy the tractor. Long story short the tiller attachment which was on my list of implements ended up "not being part of the deal" they tried to get me to spend another $2500 for the tiller once I was on the showroom floor. To say I was not happy would be an understatement. I was going to pay $43k for a used "290 hrs" L39 backhoe, 72 inch bush hog mower, land pride 74 inch tiller, and a new z725kh-60 zero turn mower. I to make the deal the salesman thre in a box scraper. Everything was good until I drove 1300 miles and was told the deal was $45,500 instead of the $43,000 as we agreed. The best part of the story is I ran into a salesman at another dealer who took the L39 in on trade when he worked at the Kubota store, he said they gave $22,000 for it and the dealer bought it himself and had it on consignment at his store to make the money himself.
Greed at its finest.
$1,500 in travel expense and no tractor.

Wow, that's a bummer. That's sort of the reason I don't like "package deals"....they don't want to talk about individual costs, so you don't really know what you paid for any one particular item. Sounds like it's time to look at other dealers.

That's too bad. A reputable dealer that you can trust is a valuable thing, but can be hard to find.

I'm looking to make a purchase of a cab model 4whd, Kubota or JD. I need a machine big enough to till a 1 acre garden, dig trenches for electrical lines, have a strong FEL, and run a brush hog or snow blower. I am looking at the JD 5085e"or M" or the kubota L6060. My background is construction grade backhoes and loaders so these are much smaller than what I am use to, but much more versatile when looking at implements. My research may be misleading but I believe a 50-60k machine has 20 to 30 percent profit in it, so a fair price for the machine would also be helpfull.
Thanks!!

If loader and backhoe usage is important I suggest looking at a TLB. As you say they are very versatile as both the bucket and backhoe can be easily swapped out, and the capacity is beyond what a tractor with add-on loader or backhoe can provide. When I went through this a while back, Kubota seemed to be the best in this area. I doubt if you will be able to get much off the price unless you look for a used one in nearly new condition, which is what I did with mine. Don't make the mistake of going too small for your needs.
