That does look like a great blade but other manufacturers make some darn good blades for a lot less--Midwest, King Kutter, Pyramid. At least then you would not be risking quite so many$'s while learning.
Seem to me your tractor would pull the 1000lbs. (with loaded tires) but you would have to take smaller bites at a time, which does not eliminate the blade's utility--just reduces it. From my reading on tbynet many unfortunates have gotten a lightweight blade and regretted it--just skips along the surface and won't cut. The tractor's pulling it fine, but it's not doing it's job--thus no utility.
