One reason for the low price in those ads is, it is under the limit that Western Union will transmit to the 'seller' if someone is foolish enough to send money.

We're seeing another wave of them here also. Want a 2003 Bobcat skid steer in perfect condition for $2002? The odd price is the tip off so scam-aware buyers don't waste their time. I've recently run into another scam trying to sell a car on Craigs List. The fake buyer leads you on in an attempt to get you to buy a scam site VIN history. I've had about 3 of those in as many weeks of listing.

I see the odd sale prices also and another thing that seems to stand out is ThE AlTeRnAtInG cApItOl AnD lITtLe letters.

I think it's the time of the season. I got a call from "Microsoft" yesterday saying my PC is infected and is transmitting a virus to everybody. I haven't had one of those calls in a couple of years. I thought those scammers wised up. Any way, I just said I didn't have a PC and they hung up. I should have kept him on the line and played with him.

I think it's the time of the season. I got a call from "Microsoft" yesterday saying my PC is infected and is transmitting a virus to everybody. I haven't had one of those calls in a couple of years. I thought those scammers wised up. Any way, I just said I didn't have a PC and they hung up. I should have kept him on the line and played with him.

You should have said "well now you have the virus since we talked in person on the phone".

Yep just the prohibited which I figured would flag them as once in awhile I would open one which had already been flagged. Whatever it was I only saw 1 today.

I actually responded to one of those ads with a throw-away email. It was fun. The 'seller' responded and explained that SHE was getting a divorce and the tractor was given to her in the settlement.
She further explained that - in her words - "since she was female, she obviously didn't have a use for it and didn't know anything about it."
That scammer needs to meet some of the farm gals I know.

That would explain why a lot of the email addresses for you to contact them have women names in them.

Just forget it.
LEO's simply aren't interested in those scam posts.
Not 'major crime'.
If someone is shot (not by a LEO) they will respond.
The best they will do if U are scammed is provide a report that you might be able to give to your insurance co (at a cost).
I once spoon fed a scammer into believing I was hooked and contacted the LEO's to give them the links and they laughed me off.
It is not in upholding the law but 'cash flow'.
\To the LEO community a radar trap is a better investment than chasing scammers.

My pal was hit by an arsonist and we kinda know who it could be.
2 months and they have not even interviewed either the contractor or the owner to get our suspicions.
(we all think it was a frustrated bidder did not get the contract)
They did however say a report was available for a fee to give the insurance co.

"COMPUTER ??? TOOLS OF THE DEVIL, I TELL YOU....LET'S ALL KINDS OF EVIL INTO YOUR HOME...WE WILL NEVER HAVE ONE IN THIS HOUSE....AND LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE PERILS OF INDOOR PLUMBING....SOURCE OF SO MUCH DISEASE....YOU DON'T HAVE THAT DO YOU ?? " I scream into the phone.

Wife looks at me sideways like "do you really HAVE to do that ?".......ahahhaaaaaa

I used to do some tech support so I know just how to handle these guys: I act like I'm extremely eager to help, but I can't follow the simplest of instructions and can't do anything without detailed instructions. I ask them to repeat everything three times, I add "www" and ".com" to everything they tell me to type, every couple of minutes I say "hold on, I'm rebooting" out of the blue and make them wait five minutes. After I've had them for about 20 minutes I'll "accidentally" type the address they're trying to get me to go to into a Google search window instead of the browser address bar and say, "Hey, Google is saying that's a malware site" all innocent and concerned. Then they curse at me and hang up.

LOL... Yeah, I like giving them a hard time. The land line is on an answering machine but I just happened to be walking by on the way out so picked it up. If I wasn't semi-in a hurry, I would have had him cursing at me.
