Ratchet Rake at TSC only

well the website is great but you cant buy direct so next stop was the website, and I dont see them at all. I found on TBN that they arent avaliably online just in the stores, Still youd think there would be some sort of ad online ..lol
So ooff to the store with a print out of what it is. The Employee looks and has no idea. they search around and cant find anything close. (they want to sell me a regualr rake).
Its great to sell them through TSC but it sure seems they arnt to determined to get my business..

I think only 500 of the TSC stores actually stock the ratchet rakes. They also seem to have one of each size in stock so it wouldn't be a shock to find only one or two in a given TSC. I called Ratchet Rake and got a specific list of the TSC stores near me that stocked the RR.

I picked up a mid sized RR (65 inch) a few weeks ago at a local TSC. Heavily made. Simple construction. Not much that can go wrong. Pretty easy to install. Using it is not quite as simple as the experienced operator in their video demonstrates but it is just a matter of practice. It does do things that cannot be done by bucket alone, bucket with toothbar or grapple. It overlaps somewhat with a plain York rake. I've only used mine for a couple of hours so far in testing but I'm pretty sure it will come in quite handy when I get around to regrading and reseeding my lawn and it also does a nice job of cleaning up brush.

Boy, really racking my brain on whether to get a RR or landscape rake. Got quite a bit of limbs etc to clean up as well as preparing for seed bed around the new home. I think the kicker is i also have some areas for some brush removal leaning me to the RR. Probably change my mind a few times between now and then but plan on heading over to the TSC tomorrow to see if they have a RR.

If you are only doing a little land leveling and preparing a seed bed here's a nice attachment for getting it done. I found this home made one on Kijiji. Works great and the front blade can be removed to use it as a dethatcher. An inexpensive build for the do-it yourselfer.

Something like this just might be an option for someone looking for a RR and can't find one.

I just got a RR. I had the same dillema - landscape rake or RR. RR works great on my MF subcomact. The bonus to me is that I can use the cutter on the back and not have to switch them out. Hope this helps...

I have both the RR and a landscape rake. I agree that the RR works best in small areas while the rake is better in fields etc. The RR is more controllable but the landscape rake demands less constant attention. Easier to damage the landscape rake when being aggressive. Both are pretty easy to mount. I like them both but find the RR generally more versatile and useful at multiple tasks. The landscape rake is mostly good at smoothing and leveling loose soil while the RR excels at scraping all manner of junk out of smallish areas and leaving the area ready to plant/seed.

The nearest TSC that stocks the RR is 2 hours away, each way. The closest store to me, only 1/2 hour, has ordered one and should have it next Friday. Looking forward to using it to clean up my woods some.
