Ratchet Rake - ever seen/used one?

I'm not sure I would try to care for a 1600ft driveway with an implement that essentially is used to backdrag. Seems a 3pt implement such as a box blade or one of the custom graders would be the way to go if you need regular maintenance.

I was just figuring I have allot of brush on around my yard going into the woods and I could use it their too. But I knew on their website they said you could do gravel maintaince. I still would like to know all the measurements.

Found a new use for my ratchet rake. Frozen horse manure is very hard to deal with around the barn area. Our horses have two preferred spots to do their business and they are both up against a fence. With the ratchet rake installed, backdragging away from the fence broke up the frozen manure quite nicely. I was then able to scoop up the manure and put it in the pile.

Okay guys I have been through all 22 pages and never saw anybody that had feedback or before and after pictures of fixing a ruted out gravel driveway. I have about 1600' gravel drive that has two hills on it. That I need to try to keep from being so ruff all the time. I made my own tooth bar but made it for digging. I am very interested in the ratchet rake but would like to here more about the results on gravel. Also can some one please tell me the measurements from the 90 out to were the teeth start and end and the measurements rom the 90 down to were the teeth start and were they end. I will be using chains and binders to hold mine on. Mine will be right around the 52" length. Also a couple more pictures of the 52 inch one would be great. Thanks In advance.

I tired w/ no great success. It worked fine for small areas, pot holes, but for a long drive (mine is 2,200' long) the box blade was much better.

Best of both worlds,my new rake works great and with a few mods will work with grapple.

Pretty cool! Carry the RR in the grapple on your way to a stump removal project then once stump is removed with grapple, mount the RR and smooth the area over. Nice idea.

What did you need to modify?

Going to modify so that it will pin on to the grapple and get rid of the straps and cables.

I just purchased the 52" model for my 23hp Massey after watching the video online...I gotta say I should have bought this as my first attachment. This thing works like a dream and I am working mostly in high clay content. I would have saved me more time than my back blade ever has for smoothing out dirt and gravel. If you are thinking this tool could save you some time on an up coming project...quit thinking and but the thing. Definitely worth every cent. Just check the package before you leave the store because mine was missing the shackles to hook it up so I had to make a quick run to Lowes to get those...we will see how fast the company sends me the correct replacements.

I bought one a few weeks ago at TSC, was a little hesitant that it wold work well in the rocky New England soil. I was prepping a 170ft x 75ft area to be a riding ring for the horses. I used the box blade and ever few feet hit a rock. I made multiple passes with the box blade finally needing to switch to the backhoe to pull out the rocks that didn't pop out. I put the RR on the front so I could scratch right below the surface looking for rocks without having to to take the backhoe off. Was impressed, but in NE soil not sure if it will work well on anything other than prepped ground.

For me my most used implement/attachment: FEL.
Second most used implement/attachment: RR.
The RR stays on my tractor unless I need to scoop up dirt or whatever then I take it off till the job is done then put it back on. It stays on my trqactor ready for use.
My Tiller, Overseeder, Boxblade, Plow and Rotary Mower ar hooked up for use then removed.
The RR isn't a Boxblade, Plow or Tiller and won't do what they do. It is great for clearing overgrown weedy areas (working forward or reverse) and it's great for leveling out areas in preparation of seeding and it will sift out rocks in loose ground (mostly working in reverse).
I was the skeptic at the beginning because no one had one and it seemed to good to be true and at a fairly reasonable price. I've actually bought two of them for different sized tractors. The Company sent me a buyer for the first one when I sold the tractor and needed a smaller one. The Company also sent me some improvements they had made all on their on, they just showed up one day. Sorry they don't still sell direct but I understand their need for going with TSC as their exclusive distributor. It's just business.
