Hi everyone - I have been working on about 2 acres of weeds brush autumn olives etc - 80% cleared and seeded - last summer sucked so the grass and area is still a rough ride - but getting better - there are many spots especially along a tree line I would like to clean up make a smooth clean transition to the woods - i have been looking at the ratchet rake and wonder if anyone has used it and likes or dislikes it ? its like 400 bucks so I really don't want to buy it - if it sucks ?? 2012-08-02_20-24-07_662.jpg

Have you watched any of the Videos of it in operation? Sounds like the straps they use are not all that great, but many have used chains and small binders and claimed great success.

I did watch them and that is what has me interested - they made it look real easy - I am a newbie running the controls so I can assure you i would be way slower - but it looks like something i could really use

Straps worked great had to get a new set of cables, no problem for them to send me new ones free.

I have one and it works very well for briars, vines, small trees, and raking in general. There have been many threads on TBN with posts recommending them.

Got mine last year at 1/2 price when they discontinued the 72". Easy to put on and take off ,and does a great job on driveways and finishing dirt for sowing grass.I haven't used it for removing small brush yet ,but others say it works great. If you search for the old thread there were several posters who really liked them.
