OK be gentle, this is my first time. There is probably a tread on this but I could not find it. I have a B2920 brand new with one little dent in the hood, with a RCK60-29B. I cant get the cutting height to change with the "Cutting Height Control Dial" It is all the way down no matter which way I turn the dial. (Mostly it is a cool sideways tiller right now.) Are there some common things I should look for?

Do you have the deck set at "top" when you change the adjustment? I think they have to be lifted all the way up before you can set a different height.

Thanks for responding. Yes I have tried with it in the Highest, Lowest and several places in between the Dial turns without effect. Any other suggestions?

Livin the dream,

I guess I would have suggested the same thing Chuck did, but on my BX1800, the height adjustment knob won't turn to a new setting unless the deck is raised all the way to the top anyway. I'm no help, but I am curious about the small dent on the hood of your brand new B2920 and how it got there. I wouldn't be able to stand it, how about you? Welcome to TBN! Dyer, retired

Lift the mower as high as it will raise.
Set the Cutting Height Control Dial at the # you desire.
The mower should stop there when ever you lower it with the Hyd control lever.

The dent I got when I overfilled the bucket with wood and then proceeded to tilt the bucket back so that on of the freshly cut logs dropped onto my shiny new orange paint. Now that that I have that dent I dont have to worry any more about when/where the first scratch will come from.

If you have tried the suggestions here, and it doesn't work, I would think that the lift arms are not connected to the mower deck correctly, or the deck wasn't set up correctly to your tractor by the dealer. I would have them look at it if your mower deck manual doesn't provide the answer you are looking for........ perhaps have them look at it anyway.

It would be good with the deck off or by looking through the cracks to see if the dial is spinning on both ends! There is a cam plate under the tractor that does the adjusting. We haven't had anyone twist one off on a new model but on an older unit with a couple of thousand hours we had one that was bad.
