Talk about hitting a window of opportunity! It rained this morning, so I figured I'd wait until this afternoon, hoping to get the CASE out before the big storm hit. I checked...the ground was just dry enough to access the machine with the only 20k winch-equipped flatbed tow truck in the area (who happened to be heading back to the shop.) We got it loaded with raindrops just starting...hauled butt outta there back to the pavement and got it to my house right as it starting dumping rain bigtime. Yanked it off of the truck with my tractor in a full downpour.

Sorry you are having equipment "challenges." Hopefully it will all get squared away for the rest of the summer.

Thanks Dave. It is what it is, I just deal with it and move on to the next job. Nice to vent once in awhile if you know what I mean.

Glad you got the Case drug out of there.

Thanks. No good news though. One of the main hydraulic hoses that runs to the left side drivemotor blew. Since CNH uses the same frame for skidsteers and CTL's (like a lot if others), the hose is in a cavity that the chain would reside in (chaincase). No way to get to it without removing the track, sprocket, drive motor and attachment plate. Since I've been having problems with that same drive motor leaking, it doesn't make sense not to change it as long as it's off of there anyway. Discounted cost for turnkey from my dealer (including a rebuilt drivemotor and new rear idler) $5800. I can save $1400 doing it myself, but I'm thinking it's not worth the headache. I still got a good deal on this machine...but good grief!

Anybody wanna buy a kidney?

My CASE dealer made me a killer rental deal on a cab TV380 to run while my machine is being repaired. I'm glad my machine's not a vertical lift...I need a nap after hitting all of the grease fittings!

I have lots of photos to share, but the multiple uploader still isn't working and I'm not the most patient guy.

This driveway had been topped with recycle asphalt...kinda. There's always some shyster selling millings when the county is re-topping roads. The problem is that the county grinds the roads at different depths and the customer doesn't know if they're getting good asphalt or asphalt with roadbase or even asphalt with roadbase and dirt. This driveway was topped with RAP with a high content of dirt provided by our local big-name, second generation shyster and spread over the top of all of the grass in the old driveway...just like his daddy did. As you can see, I removed a bunch of grass out of the mix before regrading and topping.

Me and my boy at the CASE dealer checking out some iron today.

Ni-i-i-ce driveway.

And seriously cute kid. And if you really loved him you'd buy him that machine. ;)
