Wow! I work in sales for a Case CE dealer here in Roanoke VA, and I've never heard of this problem from any of our machines. We leave our open station track machines out all the time.
The Case Product Rep is coming in next week for training, I'll mention it to him and see what he says.

Thank you for looking...and thanks for the paint restore ideas. I will provide you with the CASE incident number if it helps.
I won't even go into the TWO drivemotor seals going out on this machine in the first 750 hrs. That's bad enough...and no assistance from CASE.
I have two other documented cases of hydraulic supply line chafing and failure from one dealer, yet I paid full pop for the replacement. CASE, through it's warranty process knows of the problem I'm sure, but has done nothing for its customers. The same dealer has replaced one other complete wire loom/fuse box from their stock and told me that they have seen at least two fuse boxes mounted upside down with the relays on top...from the factory. This is located behind an unsealed compartment directly below the door dripline. I understand manufacturing problems... but FIRE (especially after being parked for seven days) from any manufacturer of anything...is inexcusable!
I love the way the machine performs, but at this point...I'm not a CASE fanboy at all. In fact...I consider them a direct threat to my existence!

Who'd a thunk it. Saving a neighbors house from burning on Saturday and my own equipment today. There's a plan...I'm just along for the ride!

Sorry to hear of your loss. Is the machine insured? It should be covered for fire.
What a pain. This makes me very wary of Case equipment. Maybe time to unload the beast and move on. 800 hrs is nothing for a skid steer. What a hassle! Hope they make right for you.
