JD 110 TLB
Re: Just Bought a new 110 TLB - thx!

Hey Guys

I bought a JD 110TLB this January and just love it. My thanks to Kyle in Texas for the tip on his local dealer.... great price and he was really terrific to work with. Bought a trailer at Big Tex and towed it home.....

As a first time tractor owner there was a lot of research to do in trying to figure out which brand and model to purchase... the JDTLB is so easy... love the hydro tranny, it is easy to jump from the loader to the backhoe, the creep function is just terrific, the joystick for the loader is perfect.... the JD is just so strong and not clunky (is that a word?) as compared to a smaller or equal and hydroless orange machine.

Figuring the trailering needs was another issue... but, as it turns out my overloaded diesel Ram handled it really well.

To the board - Thank you for all your help
Charlie D.

Boy Charlie that is a beauty of a set up. I am looking into purchasing one myself. Just trying to figure out the financing and justification since I just WANT one as opposed to NEED one as my full time job (fireman) has nothing to do with needing a tractor. I would'nt think you would be overloaded with that truck, isnt it a 3/4 ton with the CTD? Maybe 7800ish in the tractor and 2000ish in the trailer right? Is the bed of the truck full of tools? Anyway congradulations, nice....very nice. Regards, Tom

Charlie

Congrats on a great tractor. Very popular in my area. What options did you get on it? Top and Tilt hyd, thumb, 4 in 1? You should have no problem pulling it or stoping it with a 3/4 ton and 10,000 lb trailer w/ elec brakes. Congrats and have fun with it.

Re: Just Bought a new 110 TLB - thx!

Hey Guys

Yeah I am the envy of all my neighbors /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway - My truck (4 w/d, AT, CTD and 3/4 ton) did end up pulling it just fine. Only a couple long downhill grades made me a little nervous.... it did like to push me all the way down the hill. Hitting the O/D button did help. I got almost 20mpg to Texas and only about 11mpg on the way back.

FYI - It took some research to find a 20' trailer w/good ramps under 2700 lbs that will really handle the load... plus with the shell, luggage, 3pt hitch package, trailer spare and the lumber rack my load may have been 11.2K to 11.7K lbs. So, I ended up with a BIG TEx trailer. And out of all of the trailers I looked at... it was certainly the best built. And the best for hauling it 2K+ miles. In fact got all new fluids in the truck at the Dodge dealer in Las Cruces just to make sure.

Yes, the drive was well worth it... saved lots!

Oh - I did have the JD dealer try a local trailer dealer who had a 20' model that came in at about 1.9 to 2K lbs.... and the ramps simply could not handle the 110.

Tom - I'll reply to your post .... my story is very similar to yours....

Best Regards,
Charlie
