I had a great light for my BX that had a magnet base. I used to just put it on the top of the rops and like yours, you could just point it in any direction you want. It was perfect until the day a tree branch knocked it off and it smoked me in the head....:confused2:

I then put it upside down but it would still fall often so I gave up on it. I can't remember where I picked it up but most likely the magnet was not of high quality.

I used big magnets from harbor freight both for the lights and the switch box. I only need light in the winter so I can pull the whole works and not beat up the lights all summer. Can also just reach up and point em where I need em.

Yeah, I"m fortunate that they're not real big and when they are on the wires are ziptied close enough to em that they can't fall far. General idea is winter=lights, other 3 seasons no so much, so the wires all get zipped to the ROPS when they are on. Not a lot of on and off.
