You ain't a kidding! And embarrassing too -- after teaching three complete newb women to shoot pistols, they quickly equalled and challenged me every time..... And two of them with rifles do really well too...they are a "natural" in my experience.

Now that's a useful project. I don't even try long range shooting with the handguns so a handful of clay pigeons set up on a bank 10 or 15 yards away keeps my pistol shooting skills where they need to be...

Did you notice the rootwads popping up under your tractor when the tree would tip...

Mmmmm, yard beer.

I've noticed that some trees as big as those alders you show can get knocked over but then some smaller trees like maples are nearly impossible.
There you is Highbeam, and you spotted camo'd beer right off, i shoulda' known...I was so danged tired after finishing i was too pooped to shoot that first night.

These alders are really shallow-rooted -- that was pushing four over at once. Sometimes they just fall over for no reason...The rootballs havent been too much prob on the tractor yet (it'll happen)...the bigger trees with the dozer would sometimes get hooked in back of the blade, i bolted a heavy ~3/4" thick mat of rubber between the arms to protect the hyd hoses.

For the pistol shooting my Dad was a State Patrol and stayed qual'd on the 25yd range, took me along too. That man could, and did, shoot quail with a .22 pistol. He said he wasn't much of a shot, and took me shooting with a Stater that could almost shoot a pistol like i described above, but at 50ft in daylight. Snubnoses don't like me over 20ft, don't know how he did it.

Yeah, when I confronted my wife about this issue and how she was not being very respectful to me as her husband, she gave some lame comment about the fact that she actually aims. So aparently that has something to do with hitting your target?!?! Oh well, I figure what I lack in precision I can make up with quantity of lead heading down range. :D I can empty a mag way faster than she can!!! :p

I taught the wife to shoot my large framed auto handgun because it is the home security device and she ought to know what to expect when she presses the loud button. She was very good with it. I need to have her shoot it at night so that she knows to expect the large flash too. Even if you can't hit the bullseye the loud bang and flash of a handgun should make almost any burglar run for his life. She has been taught to completely and totally kill anything or anybody that she does manage to knock down even if the threat has passed.

The women are also pretty darn good with the shotgun and clay pigeons. Quite a site to see my 5 foot tall wife swinging a full length 12 gauge Rem 870.

I hadn't positively ID'd the cold beverage but I knew the odds were good.

My wife doesn't care for the heavy stuff. My 12 gauges kick too hard, but even though she's deadly with a pistol, that's in a controlled setting out on a range. She has a .38 on her side of the bed and I also instructed her to empty that thing into anyone that ever gets in the house uninvited. But even with her good aim I alternated bullets with shot-shells in the cylinder. That way every other shot only has to get close. May not be the final blow but I'd rather they get peppered than for her to miss all together out of nervousness. The other thing I was worried about for home defence is a too high powered weapon could easily go through the walls into our kids rooms, or perhaps out of the house since we have vinyl siding on 3 sides of the house. A 9mm FMJ could be in my neighbor's house! Hopefully we'll never have to find out.

The "Loud Button" HAa, dat's great. The loud button is when the cat runs under my foot too...

Spiveyman, you probably seen something similar like Glaser safety slugs, they will stop a man dead and a miss most likely won't penetrate sheetrock on both sides of the wall. Made for calibers from .25 to 30-06.

I always wondered what use they'd be in a 30-06....high flying crows maybe...

Never heard of those, thanks. I'll have to check into that.
