As posted before, received my Kubota and thought I had gone to heaven. AT about 20 hours developed a serious hydraulic problem which the dealer diagnosed as being the piece of copper tubing that goes to the power steering which was npot flared enough. After a minor debate with my dealer, convinced them not to charge me a hauling fee to pick up and service the bota. (They were relocating when I bought it and I did them a favor by renting a trailer and picking it up myself originally). They had the tractor for a week and returned, proclaiming it fixed and all was right with the world again. Today, took the tractor out of the shed to do routine maintenance (greasing). While fooling with the FEL to make the zerks alittle more accessible, I noticed a silver dollar sized spot of fluid on the left side where the previous hydraulic leak was dripping. Thought- please, let it be water. Knelt down, oily hydraulic fluid. Very angry- expletive filled monologue ensued. Oh, yeah, and now these idiots who cannot fix their own product have told me they neglected to write the State taxes into my Kubota finance contract, so they want me to come to a compromise ith them. Had told them I would split the difference, but I now feel in a very non-compromising mood. Somebody, tell me my feelings are unjustified and why, please. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Had my Bx for five weeks and it will ahve spent two and a half of them in the shop. I was as happy as my four year old on Christmas morning when I originally purchased Terrence and all accessories (FEL, Bagger, rearblade, chains, work lights). SHould be able to expect more in terms of quality control/ service on major purchases.

Is it leaking at the same place,a line doesn't sound like it should be a big deal.Maybe they could send someone over a make the repairs there?I'd give them a fair shot at repairing it,they must have seemed like a good dealer when you purchased your tractor.I don't think i would be to eager to take care of that tax issue till my tractor was fixed. You may need the money to haul it to another dealer. If all else fails call Kubota tell them your problem and let them recomend a dealer nearby. But after one unsuccessful atemp to make repairs I would not make that call, only after several or no help from your selling dealer.

Redharley,
Just extremely frustrated. Had the tractor our briefly upon its return. just moved it from the drive to the shed and left it running for a little while I was clearing out space for the rear bagger. Next time I used iot and the only time in broad daylight was today- turned it on drove it around to the drive and parked it while I got the grease guns out. Instantly, recognized the hydraulic leak. Point is- the thing never was fixed properly and it was self evident immediately. Why didn't the dealer check the tractor befrore returning it? The leak and the follow up service indacate a horrible deficiency in quality control and quality assurance. When you spend 14k on an item, you should be able to expect a little more, right?

Sorry to hear of your problem, but it sounds to me as if you have a problem with your dealer and not Kubota. Every unit is not going to come out perfect, but the dealer should make them perfect if you do find a problem. As far as the hauling, I would think all dealers are different on that policy and it should have been spelled out in your contract.
I have had my B-7800 for 2 Years and 300 hours without any problem that I didn't cause myself. My advice would be to try and locate another dealer close by if possible. Returning your machine may prove to be more difficult than you think since you have had it for that long.
Good luck

Kubotasteve,
The lemon law applies to all motor vehicles in Ohio. My dealer has one more opportunity to repair the defect. Don't want to go there but I am getting irritated. Please tell me if I am wrong to feel this way.

No dought... I would be hacked off too. But I have to agree with a previous poster and give the dealer another chance to right the wrongs. One more chance is all I'd give them.... if you still have problems I'd contact Kubota. And once again, as another said, I wouldn't even think about the tax issue until the unit is fixed correctly. You spent your money with them and now they need to prove to you it was money well spent.

Good luck.

Dmans,
Thanks for affirming that my irritation/ anger is not misplaced/ misdirected/ or unreasonable. I actually do feel bad because I do like the guys at the dealer. Went with them because they were marginally closer, even htough another dealer gave me a price about $200 less for same items. Real reason was I gfelt comfortable with them and liked them. that comfort level is quickly becoming exhausted.

May-be you should fix it yourself, sounds like a lot of trouble for an oil leak. However I would let the dealer know about it.

Sounds like you need to talk to a manager in the dealership, let them know of your frustrations and let them make it right. I to expect that a piece of equipment that you have spent a lot of money on will come with no problems, or the dealer will fix them immediately and without hassle. I think sometimes just letting them know your expectations is enough that it gets them on the right track. I hope this all works out for you. Good luck, keep us posted.

I would give the dealer another chance at fixing it and when you go to pick it up run the tractor for awhile till you are satisfied that there is no longer a leak and check to make sure the hydraulic fluid is full since the warranty work did involve the hydraulic system.

I had to get a BH actuator warrantied due to bending awhile back and when I went to pick it up the bushing was not in the new actuator.
I wasn't upset or anything I just assisted the mechanic in transferring the bushing from the old actuator to the new one, I just chalk these missed things up to human error and try to resolve them with reason instead of emotion.
I happen to understand mechanics maybe a little more than most since I are one by trade, mine is just on airplanes.
