Kubota B2910
Well guys, I guess this is it. I appreciate all the help and answers to my questions over the past few months. I've got one more PowerMax to sell, but just can't wait any longer.

After careful consideration, shopping, and of course reading everything I could here on TBN - I've finally settled on the B2910 to best fit my needs. Here's the shopping list:

B2910 w/ R4's
LA402FL FEL w/ 60" bucket, 3-5/16" hooks, toothbar & 4 pos. valve
RCK60-27B MMM
HD top link bracket
60" Kodiak SD Box Blade
48" Woods Rotary Cutter
72" Kodiak Slider Blade
Service Manual
Illustrated Parts Manual

Depending on new Kubota incentives (won't know for sure what that is until Monday) - the entire package will come in just under $20K - delivered. How'd I do?

I went in looking to purchase a 60" Brush Hog, but the dealer really thought I'd be better served by the 48" model. Upon inspection, those 60"ers look really big and heavy. I'm now thinking with the hills, number of trees and tight areas that I need to brush hog, the 48" may better serve my purposes. Any opinions on this?

I'm also considering remote hydraulics to the rear - I guess this would be the time to do it.

Looks like I could take delivery by next weekend. Thanks again fellow TBN'ers. Can't wait!

Jeff,
Congratulations !!! I have no real knowledge of Kubota prices, but that sure sounds like a reasonable deal to me.
I was at my local NH / Kubota dealer yesterday and did some serious looking at the kubotas, merely for the knowledge and drooling factor. My heart and mind are still set on a TC35D. But I have to admit, I sure like the 2710 & 2910. as well as the whole Kubota line I drooled over.
Nice Machines. Who knows, by the time I am ready to trade my JD 950 I may have to take an even more serious look at the Orange ones. Good luck and send pictures.

Hmm, just depends on the jobs you want to do, and whether you're talking about light, medium, or heavy duty brush hogs. I had a 48" Bush Hog Squealer when I bought my B2710 and promptly traded it for a 60" Howse brush hog. I wanted to be able to mow close to the fences and the 48" was not as wide as the outside tread of my rear tires. And the vast majority of my mowing was grass and weeds, no heavy brush or saplings very often. So I definitely preferred the 60" to the 48". On the other hand, if you're not concerned with being able to mow close to fences, buildings, etc., or you have heavy brush, big saplings . . . ., well, the 48" might be better for you.

Jeff, congratulations! One of the FF/Paramedics in the next town just took delivery of a 2710 w/FEL & BH from Steve Carver last week. Good luck, be careful, and post some pics when you get a chance.

Finalized the deal on the new B2910, yesterday. Decided to go with the 60" Woods BrushBull (standard duty) - thanks, Bird ... I guess it makes sense to be wider than the rear tire width. All told, the final price will be $19.5K, delivered. Just not sure when the delivery date will be, yet. Can't be soon enough, as far as I'm concerned.

I really don't know much about the Woods BrushBull except what I've read on this forum, but I was in a New Holland dealership's shop a month or so ago and they were doing the setup on a couple of them and they sure looked good to me (of course I don't know which model they were).

I just got a Woods BB60 Brushbull (and have all of 10 minutes time on it!). Even though it is in their 'Standard' line, it seems heavy duty all around. My dealer said that Woods upgraded this unit from last year's model and the 'Standard Duty' line this year are comparable to the 'Medium Duty' of last year. The deck was redesigned (round in the back/last year was square), and the gearbox is almost twice the size as last year's. The options on this are: Laminated rear wheel, Slip clutch as opposed to a sheer pin, and chain sheilding. According to the Woods brochure the tractor hp must be rated at 25 to 50, so you're right in line with the B2910.

Frank,

I saw the hp requirements of 25-50 hp for the 60" BrushBull. The 2910 only has ~22 hp at the PTO. So, I guess my question is: Is the hp requirement gross or net and will it work fine on my new 2910?
