The worst part is we all are the ones paying for a majority of the commercials...I wonder how many millions (maybe billions?) the insurance companies like Geico, Progressive etc., etc...spend on television advertising?...methinks if they didn't spend all that money on the TV spots...they could lower premiums by a large amount...
My guess is at least 30-50%. I seem to remember reading that the drug companies biggest expense for a drug is not the R&D to create the drug/product but the advertising. Advertising was a much bigger percentage.
For the type of boat we want to buy, the major brand that are heavily advertised are at least 50-100% more expensive than a "brand" that does not advertise. We think the quality in the "cheaper" boat is better too. All of the "brands" are made in China so the expensive of the build is basically the same.
