Hmmm.... had problems with a sync reverser in a previous model...... Downing the EHydro, which is buy far the most proven transmission.... wants to go and get another sync reverser / Power Reverser. Especially for mowing! Doesn't make a lot of sense to me... but oh well to each his own......

Like Divinna said, they pretty much have them figured out. I've racked up a lot of hours on various JD Hydro Machines, and actually working them and have never had a problem with one.

Some of us just prefer gears...and, I think yor statement above is incorrect. Gear trannys are the most proven.

Hey Jason
Ive been operating tractors for around 35 years now ,anything from ford 8n,s to JD industrials up JD 4650,s.I been to school on close loop hydrastatic drive systems and have a freind who actually rebuilds quite a few (mostly older International hydro,s)so I got a pretty good understanding of how they operate fixed 18deg and variable swashplate, charge pump and all,and yes my preference is still gear.
The powereverser trans has been used in industrial backhoes for more than 30 years now only resently have they been put in our SMALL tractors.I use to run a early 70,s JD 401 that had one.Another freind of mine had a 4310 ehydro that JD bought back because the dealer was unable (I,m sure that it was more a cost effective thing)to fix the electronic part of the hydro.
They all can have problems. All I was asking for was feedback on a new gear tractor before I spent a lot of my hard earned dollar for so that in another 5 or 6 years I,m not sorry that I did .I know retract that request Thanks !!

If you do a lot of mowing with the e-hydro - get the cruise control. My dealer thought I was joking (they sell mostly larger tractors). Your foot will get tired after awhile.

I still say on the 3x20 and 4x20, Hydro's are the most proven! Hydro sales on this line of tractor is pretty darn close 10 to 1 over a Power Reverser. That is what I mean buy most proven.... I'm talking about this series of tractors and the earlier models of tractors they've replaced... example 655,755,855,955 series, 4000 series.... 4000 Ten Series.... and now 3x20 & 4x20 series. more hydros sold on these models with very few problems far out number the reversers sold on these models.

Lil43..... I'm sorry that the members here couldn't seem to objectively answer your questions. I'm sure that most meant to, but we sometimes get sidetracked. :)
Have a wonderful holiday season!

To answer your question straight out and not try to tell you what's best. The 3520 I have now has 185 hrs on it and it has been trouble free. It is very comfortable to operate, the controls are laid out in a way that is not tiring to use for long periods of time.

I have used it mow my lawn, plow and harrow 2.5 acres, blow snow, and much loader work. Be sure to get the 300CX loader, not one of the less expensive models. The 300CX has better specs and is more useful than the lesser ones.

All in all, if I had to do it again, I would not hesitate. Great model and very powerful AND even my wife likes it. :D

I believe thr 3203 is e-hyrdro. The build tool shows 3320 and 3520 as power reverser standard.

I have a 3720 tractor with e-hydro and 615 hours on it and have not had any hydro problem at all. The tractor is a brute as I do landscaping and it does not get babied or abused either. Very economical on fuel usage.Only complaint I've encountered is settling of the 3ph and dealer doesn't seem to find the cause and warranty is not yet up so I am hopeful a solution is found. I have an 8 foot chisel plow and have broken up pasture to be reseeded into lawn in some of our subdivisions and that tractor never lets me down power or traction wise. Just widh I'd of got a cab........
