I had mine filled mainly because I dig alot, and seem to be constantly moving dirt, gravel, etc etc. I am not a professional, but a loaded fel of wet dirt or gravel is quite heavy, and if you drop that boom quick, up comes the rear. My last tractor didn't have the rears filled, but on this one I got it done. This is just my 2 cents, you only have to have that tractor tip forward once and it will change your mind.

Like Island said, if your doing grass cutting and doing little to no FEL work, I can't see you needing it either.

I do a lot "chore" work with my loader like spreading dirt strategically but not a lot of "mass" moving. When we start dealing with more round bales for the horses I could see it being useful.

If you already have your tractor at home then delaying loading the tires until you know you need it makes sense. However, for someone planning to buy a tractor who thinks they will be doing tasks that require extra ballast, it really makes sense to have the dealer do it before taking delivery. It will be a messy and time consuming job to do it yourself and there is very little money to be saved over having the dealer handle it before purchase.

Yes, that makes sense. Although my dealer is across the street from my house, maybe a half mile at most.;)
