No carpet except for an area rug that fits under her bed...all hardwood floors and cement...but the HW floors are really old and have cracks in them...they were heavily sprayed w liquids and dusted 4-6 diff times w all kinds of powerful licensed only chemicals. The girls were told to vacuum daily for the eggs. They did so 2-3 times per day and tossed the bags into a garbage can. They've logged over 130 hrs of vacuuming...Her area rug is at a carpet cleaning place. I have the pad and I'm spraying, then power washing and drying...

Here's a question: If they are in the walls [sheetrock], what should be done, in specific terms? My daughter has been sleeping on an uncomfortable couch and at friends homes during the last spraying to see what comes to her lighted flea traps. So far only one flea, but as in the past other sets of flea traps [this is the 5th set and 7-8 traps/set around the house and bedrooms], it starts w one then 4-5 more after 7-10 add'l days.

The worst thing in my daughters mind that causes a lot of stress, is if she puts all her things back, a female flea or fleas emerge, eggs lain, then her things need to be washed/cleaned/tossed again for a 3rd time. Also going to bed w the thought of her not knowing if or not fleas will show up that night is disturbing too. Landlords think 1-2 fleas here and there is not too much to worry about, considering there were 1000's of them previously. My daughter did state that what she has learned here, she will forever carry forward in either renting another place or other...she's 23.

Thanks again, tstex

I bought a house where the owners had 11 dogs in the backyard, and fleas would eat you alive if you went out there. Once the owners and dogs left town, the fleas got hungry! The house had to be treated for subterranean termites, back in the day when they still used Clorodane to treat termites. The guy doing the application, using a large pressure hose with a small nozzle on it, was getting eat up and turned around and sprayed the hose over the backyard. I went out there a couple days later, and not a single flea bit me! Course this won't help the O/P because they banned that chemical years ago!

Thanks David.

Yes, all the real robust chemicals were all banned, which were beyond effective the first time.

Chlordane was one of those. Now we have things like Dawn soap, lol.

130 hours of vacuuming times the minimum wage should be included in the damages when she wins her lawsuit. That, plus hotels/lodging while she was out of the house, any rent forfeited while she was out of the house, any utilities while she was out of the house, moving expenses, and emotional distress.

Get her out of the situation. It's unhealthy physically and mentally.

By using natural they are not
harmful to people or pets!

Fipronil. It is a termiticide. Can buy under brand name Taurus. It kills somewhat slowly (days) but it eradicates bugs. No ant beds in yard for a year after light application. Add a little to household insecticide and spray baseboards. No bugs in house for a year. I would spray the baseboards and carpet and I bet no more fleas.

Low human toxicity Of course this is way off label use.

Bonjour, en France, nous avons un médicament que nous donnons au chien une fois par an et quand les parasites attaquent les chiens, les parasites meurent ; Je le donne à mon chien chaque année.
passe une bonne journée

I would move the girls out. The cheapest best I ever found is Sevin Dust, use 10%, use it inside and out, animals will pick the sevin dust up in their paws , that is also the way they pick up fleas and ticks. The best thing I ever used to bathe animals was lice shampoo for humans. Try this , but move the girls out, this has gone on too long, what about roof access? Good luck.

We have had a flea infestation on the family farm from time to time. We used flea powder. and raid flea foggers. That was in the past and it worked well every time. Now I think you could make some traps and win the battle. But why stay? Why have you not moved them to another location? Honestly this landlord has no leg to stand on Move on. Being a nice guy is great but what about your daughter?
