I am looking for a rear blade for my BX. I will need it for FEL ballast, snow removal and light dirt and gravel grading. Woods makes the RBC series for the BX but they are expensive ($495.00 for a 60"). Land Pride has the 15 series and the 05 series. The 15 is about the same price as the Woods but with a higher moldboard and about 60LBs heavier. The 05 series seems light by the specifications at nearly 110LBs lighter than the 15 series and 50LBS lighter than the Woods. The 05 is still $405.00. TSC makes a 5' for $299 and it weighs the same as the Land Pride 15 series. On its price and spec, TSC would seem like the better choice. Your thoughts, experiences and advice. Thank you.

I have the RB15 and love it, it does seem lite but so far it has been heavy enough to use as ballast with the FEL. Right now I use it to level and maintain my driveway and it does a pretty good job and leaves a nice finish. I will be using it this winter to aid the FEL with snow removal and am pretty sure it will be adequate for ballast cause it worked with a bucket full of wet dirt.

As much as I like Land Pride, for your uses, I would go with TSC from the sound of your needs. Be sure it has a removable cutter edge.

I went with the Woods RB60 primarily because it had tilt as well - but I have never really used it....
The TSC model would have served my purposes well
I do suggest getting skid shoes - not sure it they can be added to the TSC model

Check how well design,by that I mean re enforce/support also thickness of steel used.

I got lucky, I bought a 60" blade on craigs for 100 bucks. Looks like bp's, but it is heavier steel and is red. The guy I bought it from has a B7800, had just asphalted his drive, and did not need it anymore. He told me that he bought it at the local Kubota dealership. Replaceble cutting edge and all. I think it is a Bush Hog? FWIW my ballast box full of rocks is much heavier than my BB. I usually put that on for heavier fel work. We'll see this winter as this is my first with this tractor.

I may add , also consider getting a rubber cutt[ng edge vs shoes for your BB, works very well in the snow, like a squegee.

A friend of mine who plows snow with his truck uses a piece of PVC pipe that he split and covers the cutting edge of the plow with , I have not tried this method yet but he swears by it .
From the looks of it the $299 model blade at TSC is designed for full size Cat-I hitch and may be too tall for the BX to lift high enough. They also sell the same blade you see in BP fick's photos for $319.
In any case I think it would work fine for what you describe. In the winter you will not have nearly enough traction to do any damage to either of these blades. You might want to add chains to the rear tires. I have plowed snow with and without chains and the and chains will put your tractor into a whole different class when pushing snow. It is money VERY WELL spent.
