I went with the rubber edge on mine. It took maybe 1 hour to install. I went with a heavy industrial one made for plows, it was kind of pricey, maybe $50, but very thick, and should last me a life time.

And a trick for dealing with a bit of uneven ground if you have any is to replace the fixed side link with a length of chain.

Not sure what you're calling the 3pt arms.. The lower links "pull" the implement. The lift arms are the hydraulically power arms that do the work when raising an implement. The side links connect the lift arms to the lower links and control the tilt of the implement via lengthening/shortening. The top link provides pitch control to the implement.

I replaced one of the side links with some chain so the tilt of the implement can change with the contour of the ground that it's being pulled over. I'll have to dig it out of the winter box, and I'll post a picture later tonight if I get the chance.

I understand now about the chain taking the place from one of the lower control arms.

Does that put anymore stress on the other lower arm when lifting the blade?

No, not really. The side with the chain lifts up just after the other because you need the chain side slacked a bit when it's on the ground to allow it to float lower than the other if it needs to. When you raise the implement the fixed side will start to raise, but the other half of the implement is resting on the ground for a bit until the slack is out of the chain. And because each end of all the 3pt links have swivel ends, there is no twist introduce on any of the links.

And for that matter, you could replace both side links with chain if you wanted to. I just replaced one because the ground I was working on didn't require a lot of articulation.

Not so far fetched. They actually sell bucket mounted plows on Northern Tool.
